Christian Kmeir

Christian Kmeir is a Lebanese-Canadian citizen with vast experience of managing quality control, works procedures, and directing teams in multi-site projects. An expert in environmental engineering, Professor Kmeir is skilled at conducting and organizing coordination meetings with contractors and acting authorities, liaising with the public, and providing technical assistance around all aspects of hydraulics. He was previously a professor at the Université Saint-Joseph – Ecole supérieure d’ingénieurs de Beyrouth. This institution was established over 100 years ago and remains a beacon of science and elite education in the field of engineering, continuing to expand its specialties to meet changing demands.

Professor Kmeir is the founder of GET Group and continues to lead the enterprise as indirect owner today. GET Group is headquartered in Doha, Qatar, and provides a full spectrum of general contracting services. These include design, fit out, MEP, construction, infrastructure, landscaping, facilities management, and more. GET Group, which employs around 7,000 people, has successfully completed numerous turnkey projects to date, such as the design and construction of Al Bidaa Hotel in Souq Wakif, the design and construction of Al Messila Resort & VIP Spa at Al Rayan, and the restoration of Sheikh Abdel Aziz Bin Ahmad Palace at Al Rayyan. The enterprise is dedicated to being the best and most respected general project management and contracting organization in the MENA region and beyond.
ENB Ltd Consulting Engineers
From 1994 to 2000, Professor Kmeir worked as a project manager for ENB Ltd Consulting Engineers in Lebanon. In this position, he oversaw the National Emergency Recovery Program, which involved rehabilitating wastewater and water supply facilities in Mount and North Lebanon. As well as the construction and rehabilitation of 40 water treatment plants and stations and the rehabilitation and drilling of 40 boreholes, the project saw the rehabilitation of two wastewater pumping stations and 190 water towers and reservoirs and the construction of around 100 kilometers of sewer lines.
Philanthropy
For Professor Kmeir philanthropy is a key concern. Via his business interests, he has donated COVID-19 vaccines to Akoura, Tannourine, Ehmej, and the Lebanese army, provided free buses to the Tannourine community for the last five years, and been involved in minimizing the effects of low rain levels in Tannourine through the construction of artificial water ponds for use in agriculture. He has also assisted in the reconstruction of four major villages in South Lebanon destroyed during the Israeli–Lebanese conflict in 2006, which involved rebuilding 6,000 homes and 700 religious buildings, as well as schools and fire stations.
